People working in industries and smokers are widely assumed to be at the highest risk of lung cancer, also known as carcinomas.
All this is because they are highly exposed to pollution and dangerous cigarette fumes almost daily. Well, it is adequate to say they are at the highest risk, but unfortunately, today, everyone is equally exposed. People residing or working in big cities come face to face with pollutants every day, and that makes them vulnerable as well.
Lung cancer is tough to detect, given that lungs are internal organs that cannot be touched to test for lumps, or cannot be seen to assess changes in the way they look. Even according to experts, the early signs and symptoms of cancer cannot be differentiated from tuberculosis or other chronic conditions; therefore, caution is advised. Patients should seek immediate evaluation for screening the moment they notice the following symptoms.
