10 Things that happen to your brain and body
If you don’t get sleep this is what happens to your brain and body? Getting adequate sleep is essential for overall human health. As studies have shown, the body and the brain are the likeliest victims when you deprive yourself of sleep. Brain cells are no longer capable of communicating effectively, and you experience mental lapses albeit temporarily. In the long run, memory and visual perception are adversely affected.
You might also have heard of the phrase “recycling rate.” The recycling rate refers to the amount of time a human can last without sleep before the brain or body shows signs of deterioration. When you go for 16 hours without sleep, the normal brain functions are compromised, and the body begins to show signs of impairment. Mental and body deterioration symptoms become evident after 16 hours awake, and once you hit 19 or 20 hours, you become impaired mentally, and unable to function normally.
